On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, classmate Gildardo Gallardo wrote an outstanding original commentary involving the U.S. Government.Gildardo commented on how president Obama "has taken the correct action using his executive order to grant permits that will benefit more than 4 million undocumented immigrants." I completely agree with Gil's opinion because I as an immigrant know what it is like to live under the shadows living every day in a paranoid way knowing one day I will get deported. Being given a benefit to stay in the U.S. and work legally is something any immigrant desires, despite having many against it. Many conservative states have gone against Obama's decisions are taking actions to null and void the Executive order. Gildardo targets liberals and tries to influence conservationists who are against it. Overall Gildardo's opinion on Obama's Executive action is something I would personally back up.

President Obama should not get impeached because of the executive order he took in order to fix the country's immigration policy. Republicans are furious because of Obama's actions and now want to sue him. They all feel Obama has contradicted himself, and that he declared war on them after losing the Democratic majority in Congress.
Obama had left congress in charge of making a policy that would help fix immigration policy, but after years of waiting and time running out, Obama felt it was his duty to step up and take action. Congress believes Obama declared war on them, but it was them who declared war on him after not doing a single thing about fixing immigration policies.
Before Obama became president of the U.S. he proposed to do his best to help fix many issues, making immigration the most important. His first step was by creating the DACA (before his first term ended), which is the same as the Executive order but for immigrants who had entered the U.S. as a child. DACA was seen as a light of hope by many immigrants, that also helped him secure most of the Latino vote.
Angry Republicans will start taking action fighting back Obama next year when they become the majority in the Legislative branch, even if it means trying to impeach. Republicans are being self-driven by materialism. An example of that is the Keystone pipeline that needs to go into re-voting after it was struck down by legislation this year.
Immigrants are not all criminals. Some have families, pay taxes, some don't have medicare, so republicans are mistaken by treating them as felons. Everyone is here following what is the "American Dream" by getting an education, building a business and having a home to live in, This country was founded by Immigrants, and those immigrants fought hard for what they owned. Obama is doing things right and he should not get impeached because of the executive order he took in order to fix the country's immigration policy.

On November 17, 2014, The New York Times posted an opinion based article called Obama in Winter. Columnist David Brooks give his opinion on how he "Strange" president Obama has been acting after the midterm elections. David Brooks' article targets all types of audiences in many ways. David tries to target Republicans trying to persuade everyone in thinking Democrats are on the downfall by giving off a negative feeling of the Democrat party.
David Brooks seems angered by the way he explains Obama's future plans for the nation like fixing immigration policies. David states, "The move will further destabilize the legitimacy of government. Redefining the legal status of five or six million human beings is a big deal." Because the Executive power is being conducted by a Democrat doesn't mean its illegitimate. Obama has won the Latino vote majority through both presidential elections, promising he would help. Obama has managed to help many Latinos with the Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals Act but not all. David even stated, "Instead of a nations with laws, we could slowly devolve into a nation of diktats..." Obama spoke many times with Legislative leaders to get together and work on a bill to pass but they never got to an agreement over the last 6 years, and now Obama believes their time is running out, so he's taking actions with his executive power.
I disagree with David Brooks' article because it's not Obama's fault for wanting to take action on something he told Congress to do years ago. It's Congress' fault for never doing anything, and now that the Republican party is taking control of Congress, Obama wants to act as soon as possible because once both branches are driven by political rivals nothing gets done. Congress has given up express power through time to the Executive because of American fear, so now they should attend to the consequences for being irresponsible, and stripping themselves of their own power.

On October 29, 2014, CNN published an editorial called, Why Jeb Bush shouldn't be president, based on the opinion that another Bush for president is too much for American society to handle. Author, Timothy Stanley, returned to the United States from Britain in order to "get a sense of the political mood in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election." But what he saw was something he did not like. It almost seemed like deja vu.
Timothy's mood after knowing who was running for the 2016 presidential elections was not satisfying. After seeing that the two major competitors are Hilary Clinton and Jeb Bush, he felt like our country had not "revolutionized". I agree with Timothy, this country has had too many Bushes and we need someone new, maybe a female president, or a third party candidate should rise to make a difference. Like when you are drinking the beer "Busch", after you've had two and feel a little affected by it, even though they were cheap, you know that you have to stop, or who knows how your system will take it. And after our second Bush, I don't think this country wants another one. Especially if the last one took us to war and screwed our system up.
Timothy's opinion was in order to influence Americans that this country shouldn't desire another Bush, or even another Clinton in office. Timothy acknowledged that maybe Jeb wasn't that bad of a candidate (he at least felt Jeb had more personality than his brother and father), after recognizing that "Jeb would still be a more than worthy addition to the race that right now is full of newbies to national politics (Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, etc.)". Even Barbara Bush doesn't approve of another bush in office either (though she was told to shut up already) because of all of the drama. ""I think it's a great country, there are a lot of great families, and it's not just four families whatever. There are other people out there that are very qualified, and we've had enough Bushes."" Not only did Barbara's opinion target the Bush family but it also targeted the Clinton family. Timothy targeted two political party candidates, and it seems as if he wants a third party to rise and kick either the Democrats or Republicans off the voting plateau.
Yes, there are too many known families competing for this country in the upcoming 2016 elections, (Bush, Clinton, and Paul). And though it may not change many opinions on who people want, it sure gives them something extra to think about and retrospect, whether they want another Bush, another Clinton, or someone different.

On Monday October 13, 2014, Time published and articled called Funding Cuts Delayed Ebola Vaccine, Official Says.  This article has revealed that government spending on a vaccine for the Ebola virus has had a dramatically cut. If the Government had not stopped funding for a cure, the vaccine would've been available two years ago, and Thomas Duncan wouldn't have died. The government not only cut the funding for a vaccine by millions of dollars, but the government hasn't provided good enough procedures for doctors to treat patients the safe way, resulting in the infection of the nurse in Dallas. Which has also angered many nurses, some have even started protesting because of the poor training they are receiving. The government has hurt out society, and frightened us because there's no vaccine that can cure Ebola. People are coming into the U.S. from West African countries like Liberia, and we don't have the technology needed to stop the deadly virus. Hopefully the government doesn't cut the funding and we can have a solution to treat the Ebola virus that is getting closer and closer to our society.
